The shooting of the demonstrator must be urgently investigated and responsibility and culpability established.
However any injustices perpetrated by those who should be upholding law and order in Greek democracy does not in any way justify acts of hooliganisam and vandalism and arson against innocent people by people who are angered by the police shooting.
Any legitimacy they may have protesting against the actions of the police is undermined by their own disregard for law and order.
There will always be some who will use their fists when they're voices are being ignored, and its a good thing too! there's also always police provocateurs used to discredit peaceful protest.
There is Police shooting AGAIN !! in Faliro area Police station at around 19:00pm . There was shooting again from Police officers against demonstrators (no victims this time). Every one is shocked as 12 years old have been spoted from the cameras to through stones against the police

“Don’t shoot students – don’t shoot children” , “with special police (MAT) cannot reform the educational system” , “caps – pigs – murderers” , .. " this is for Alexis" ... they were shouting ..
Spot on. Anyone who thinks that rampaging gangs looting, burning cars, and attacking ordinary people and their homes and communities is a revolution is a naive fool. The general strike is a completely separate issue.
Just ask yourselves if you would like the same to happen in Dublin or Cork or Belfast. And imagine the sort of creatures who would be in the forefront of it.
People should be aware that there appears today to be an international campaign of deliberate mis-information being spread from within Greece, presumably by right wing forces there. Fresh comments have been posted on other sites to articles that are 3 or 4 years old that have obviously been found through google and which have little relevence to current events. These comments suggest that ordinary people or their houses are being attacked. There appears to be no truth whatsoever in these accusations, the intent of the co-ordinated campaign of misinformation seems to be to undermine solidarity with the Greek working people who are in struggle with their governement and brutal police force.
This isn't the first time the greek police and fascists have worked together.

The demonstrations in Greece go on on a daily basis ....Now the police is provoking and arresting 13-year olds. They are trying to intimidate people...The media are now trying to keep what is happening out of the news. The government is scared.
We are angry, the time is now. We should not give up.

Yesterday, an assembly held at the occupied Athens Polytechnic issued a call-out for an international day of action on Dec 20th.
WSM, I have been looking extensively at the Greek coverage and international (even Fox news!) coverage. Not ONCE did I see anything about normal people or houses being attacked! I think maybe, it is you who is spreading the propaganda.
The story seems to be covered fairly well, even by mainstream media. There is a slight bit of bias but, there always has been and will be but we all know it man, dont write stupid stuff like that though. No one here is an idiot
Conor, go back and read what was said, it referenced comments on the internet. Also, Greek mainstream media did try to pass off fascists as concerned citizens attacking rioters. Just because YOU didn't read it doesn't mean it didn't happen.
