CELT - Centre for Environmental Living and Training - the East-Clare-based national environmental education charity, recently held their 5th annual Summer in the Woods event at Bealkelly Wood, Tuamgraney, Co.Clare. The regular monthly vigil against Shannon’s role in international torture networks and war-mongering took place on Sunday 13 July. Activists gathered at the roundabout just outside the airport and spent an hour reminding the public that there should be no place in Shannon for CIA torture planes or the US military. read full story / add a comment

The disparity between the yes and no votes cast in Clare in the Lisbon Treaty must be clarified, a spokesman for Republican Sinn Fein said today. More than 60 people from all walks of life - and all parts of Ireland (plus a couple of overseas visitors) - came together at Bealkelly Wood, Tuamgraney, Co.Clare for a weekend of skills training in 12 different disciplines. CELT professional tutors provided tuition at introductory and intermediate level in workshop areas within the oak woodland which is beside Lough Derg on the Shannon waterway. read full story / add a comment |
